Dr Abbas graduated from King Edward Medical College in 2006. AMC training was completed from Central & Northern Adelaide Health Network in 2010. He completed Basic Physician training RACP (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) in Adult Medicine in 2013. He has worked in various Metro & regional hospitals across Australia & got extensive experience in General medicine, Aged care & geriatrics, Palliative care, Cardiology, Respiratory & Sleep medicine, Emergency medicine & General Practice.
He is currently doing postgraduate studies in leadership & management and Public health from Griffith University.

Dr Steptoe graduated from Notre Dame University, WA in 2009. Dr Dayman comes from a background in genetics and specialised forensics, Dr Steptoe has worked with multiple agencies around the world as a forensic DNA & bone expert before undertaking further medical training in Australia. Although he spent a number of years working as a doctor in various emergency and surgical rotations around Australia, Dr Steptoe now lives locally on a rural property. He was born and bred in the country and has a lifelong passion for the Australian Outback and respects the “wonderful people that live there”. Dr Steptoe has made a firm commitment to help the local people of our area however he can, and brings to our community a much needed special interest in skin cancer surgery
Dr Ruth grew up in Toowoomba where she completed her Biomedical Science Degree at USQ and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery through Griffith University with initial training in Logan Hospital. She spent two years at Princess Alexandra Hospital, particularly enjoying Endocrinology (Diabetes management) and Dermatology (Skin cancers), as well as enjoying some time in Emergency at QEII hospital.
She has worked as a GP in both Dalby and Blackbutt and enjoys the rural lifestyle.
Her special interests are Women’s Health, Paediatrics with a diploma in Child health and diagnosis and treatment of Skin Cancers.

Dr Shani Mendis graduated from Manipal College of Medical Sciences Nepal. Dr Shani has her Australian Medical Council Certificate and has been practicing in Australia since 2013. She has spent 2 years practicing Emergency Medicine and Cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital. Previous to this she was working at Campbelltown Hospital NSW doing Emergency medicine and Respiratory medicine.

Dr Sarwat SARDAR is a female GP who has joined Beaudesert Family Practice since August 2018. She has had experience in all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in women’s health, kids health, antenatal checkups and chronic disease management. She is able to provide you with general health checks such as breast examinations and pap smears. Dr Sardar can also perform Implanon® insertions and removals and IUD removals.

I was born in Germany. I went to medical school in Erlangen (Bavaria) and graduated in 2007. In current clinical practice I particularly love seeing children but have a special interest for neurology. Outside of work I am a mum of two, keen traveller, yoga lover and quite possibly the world’s worst gardener.
Dr Justin Wong graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011. He gained extensive hospital experience at the Rockhampton Base and Gold Coast University hospitals prior to his journey into General Practice. He has completed the RACGP examinations and is on track to obtain fellowship (FRACGP). Justin is a native of Canada and speaks fluent English as well as Cantonese. Prior to medicine, he was an electrical and computer engineer and worked on the oilsands of Northern Canada and the Scottish deepwater Schiehallion oilfields.
Lovingly called by her patients as “Sangee,” Dr Sangeetha Ponnusamy completed her Medical training in Dr MGR Medical University, Tamilnadu, India in 2001. Initially she trained as an Ophthalmologist (Eye specialist) following her primary medical training. After migrating to Australia with her family, she preferred to retrain as General practitioner with enormous passion for Preventative and holistic family care. She is mother of two children and has a strong belief in making positive difference to people’s lives through Primary health care.
Dr Ponnusamy has keen interest in Adult and Children’s Mental health and does skin cancer biopsies and excisions. She also manages Chronic diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Heart problems, Asthma and COPD. She has worked in various Government and Private hospitals in tertiary and primary setting and has experience in managing challenging clinical situations. Dr Michael Stapelberg is a General Practitioner with a advanced training in Skin Cancer
Medicine and General Practice Dermatology.
He graduated with Bachelor of Science with first class honours in Anatomy from the University
of Queensland, which was followed by four years full-time research at the Dermatology
Research Laboratories at the University of Sydney. He received the prestigious
University of Sydney Postgraduate Award, investigating how sunlight damages the skin’s
immune system and was awarded a postgraduate Doctorate (PhD) in Medicine for this
work. He then further consolidated his research by undertaking a Post Doctoral Research
Fellowship at the world-leading Centenary Institute of Cancer Medicine and Cell Biology
and then Griffith University while completing his Medical degree (MBBS). He has published
extensively in leading Dermatology peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal
of Investigative Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, and has presented at national
and international conferences.
Following his Medical studies, he began post graduate clinical training in Queensland at
the Princess Alexandra, the Prince Charles, and Gold Coast University Hospitals. He then
completed his fellowship with The Royal Australian College of General
Practitioners (FRACGP) and has focused on Skin Cancer Medicine and General Practice
Dermatology by completing extensive course work and qualifications through The Skin
Cancer College Australasia, and completing the internationally recognised Diploma in
Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, UK. He is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor
and has expert skills in diagnosis of Skin Cancer, Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery including
flaps and grafts, non surgical skin cancer management and General Practice
Laura Gardner is a clinical psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency APRHA and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists. Laura has a Master of Clinical Psychology (graduated in 2006) as well as a Graduate Diploma in Child Psychotherapy. Laura has worked in community health settings and has been in private practice since 2008. Special interests include working with children, as well as anxiety and trauma recovery for adults.
Laura Gardner is Beaudesert Family Practice’s visiting psychologist. Laura can assist with a wide range of issues including: Depression and Anxiety, Phobias, Grief and Loss, Substance Abuse, Physical, Mental and Sexual Abuse Recovery, Trauma, Parenting Issues, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties in Young People, General Mental Health.
Laura’s treatment approach includes: Cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness training, interpersonal therapy as well as assertiveness skill training, relaxation, stress and anger management, and communication skills.

He is committed to helping people make realistic diet and lifestyle changes and does not believe in ‘fad diets’ or ‘quick fixes’; strongly believing sustainable health change and optimal wellbeing requires consistency and long-term commitment. He works closely with the client to ensure they are empowered and motivated for change. Aleksa is keen to utilise his expertise to develop an individually tailored plan to help you get great results and achieve your health goals.
Aleksa has completed his studies in Nutrition and Dietetics (graduating with honours) and has worked closely with a wide variety of clients across all age groups. His speciality areas include: weight loss, chronic disease management (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), muscle mass building, IBS management, and gut health. Aleksa also has a keen interest in sports nutrition and is working towards completing additional qualifications to become an Accredited Sports Dietitian.
