Dr Chungath Juni Jobson (Juni) completed his MBBS from Dr D. Y. Patil Medical College in 1994 After finishing his internship in 1995 then went on to have a very diverse career.
His first three years as a doctor were spent working in the niche field of leprosy (Hansen’s Disease), in Richardson Leprosy Hospital, Miraj he underwent WHO training in dermatology and ophthalmology related to Hansen’s Disease.
In 1999 he went on to do a Fellowship in Accident and Emergency Medicine and then a Master’s in General Surgery at the world-renowned Christian Medical College Hospital Vellore. While working here, he was awarded a visiting Scholarship to Stanford University Medical Centre in California USA and the International College of Surgeons in Chicago USA. After returning from the USA, he worked as a General Surgeon in rural India for 4 years.
He has travelled extensively. Presented research papers at international conferences.
The family relocated to Australia in 2008. He worked as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine/Psychiatry and Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Brisbane and then as a Senior Medical Officer in Emergency Department in various hospitals in SE Queensland.
From 2015 to 2018 has worked for Life Flight (formerly Care Flight) and Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) as a Medical Retrieval doctor. These were in a rotary wing and fixed wing platform respectively. This also involved doing international retrieval in a Lear Jet 60 and Challenger 604 aircrafts.
Currently he works part-time in Emergency Department and part-time in general practice with a special interest in Skin cancer surgery. He plans to transition to full-time General Practice over the next few years. His other interests include minor procedures, mental health and of course emergencies.
His other passions are medical education, bike riding and going for long walks in the Australian bush!
