Mayukh Verma

Mayukh (RN) graduated with a diploma of nursing from Tafe Queensland in 2019 and completed his Bachelor of Nursing at the end of 2021. Mayukh started with us as a nursing student since has learned new skills such as acute and chronic complex wound care, support with chronic disease management, assisting with skin excision procedures, completing diagnostic testing and coordinating flu and COVID19 clinics. He enjoys working alongside other healthcare professionals and has excelled in his placements which include Cardiothoracic surgery and Coronary Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital.

Mayukh has special interest in Critical care nursing including Emergency and Trauma.

His other passions include playing European Handball for the Australian National team and has competed at multiple major international tournaments around the world.

He has also received grants and recognition from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) to help him achieved his childhood goal of representing Australia at the Olympic games.

With the use of the medical knowledge, he will learn throughout his medical education he wishes to one day work with Doctors without Borders to provide healthcare to poverty/disease-stricken and war-torn regions around the world. Additionally, he would like to be involved within the World Health Organisation and advocate on behalf of worldwide nurses and promote men in nursing.
